Roy Xi: eek.. is there an alimony court for deadbeat dads? :-\
JenzZa Misfit: ao on
Alanagh Recreant: this is so fun... Yxes... nice :))
Hydra Shaftoe: I pay enough in puppy support. Do you realize what it costs to put 14 kids through disobediance school?

CeAire Decosta: LOL!!
Alanagh Recreant: Cindy, I was thinking the same thing!
Bjorlyn Loon: I'm thinking that is above and beyond the call of correspondent duty, Beyers!
Harper Beresford: prim babies!
Alanagh Recreant: 9 days?
Hydra Shaftoe: Hydra's Drive through wedding chapel and Elvis shrine.
Fleetwood Andrew: it varies.. you get to chose
Fleetwood Andrew: lol!
roadnick: Depends on how the asset servers are working. :)
Metanomics: TO ASK YOUR QUESTIONS, type them in open local chat. Preface it with the word QUESTION:
JenzZa Misfit: wtg Yxes :)
Bjorlyn Loon: Tux dress by Eshi Otawara. Her shop, Chambre du Chocolat, tripled in size just this past week, and is located here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Blumfield/225/179/27
Bjorlyn Loon: 100% prim-based jewels by Random Calliope. His store, the Worthwhile Gallery, is located here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Ode/157/30/25
TJ Asp: Actually my first month in sl I attended an elf wedding and balled my eyes out.
KK Jewell: Eshi is the best
Neuron Shepherd: is thatdress alive/
CeAire Decosta: yikes!
Hydra Shaftoe: Im just imaginging Ernie Keebler in a wedding dress. just lost my appetite
Shirley Marquez: an avatar in a typical formal is up in the 2000 range
Shirley Marquez: sometimes higher
Neuron Shepherd: It lives!
Bjorlyn Loon: Furnishings, trees and plant by artoo Magneto. His stores (several) at ANYmotion are located here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/anyMotion/165/187/35/
TJ Asp: She's probably away in photoshop working on new fashions.
TJ Asp: And Bet is current at an arc of 3,400
TJ Asp: (Down from over 4k by the way, what did you remove?)
Boring Television: I like that tree better than most trees I see in SL. Way more dimensional
Bjorlyn Loon: BETTINA'S WEBSITE: http://npirl.blogspot.com/
TJ Asp: fyi that gorgeous hair of Yxes pushed her arc over 8,000 !
Mr Koolaid "Grape" CLICK FOR A GLASS!!: Have a Glass of Koolaid Fleetwood Andrew
IYan Writer: ouch - but it is very nice hair
TJ Asp: Just guessing it was the hair frankly.
Alanagh Recreant: iYan :)
TJ Asp: It was awfully nice hair :-)
JenzZa Misfit: ..... I like to go for " not possible in SL " !!
IYan Writer: you know better than to diss the shoes LOL
Boring Television: prim counts so big, not possible in SL
Bjorlyn Loon: To visit AM Radio's Wheat Field at The Far Away: http://memoryprojector.com/
JenzZa Misfit: and MAKE it possible ! woot !
Bevan Whitfield: lol iYan
Bjorlyn Loon: The wheat field has a secret:
http://npirl.blogspot.com/2007/10/wheat-fields-have-secret.html
Yxes Delacroix: 8000 ??? yikes! LOL
Bjorlyn Loon: The wheat field has a secret:
http://npirl.blogspot.com/2007/10/wheat-fields-have-secret.html
JenzZa Misfit: ...... I bought a wheat field ! it was TOO cool not to buy !
Hydra Shaftoe: I need an 800 prim tail.
Boring Television: 8000 is way too high
Boring Television: less is more
Blackened Merlin: I got yelled at for having mine touch 4000
KK Jewell: I think Radio's wheat field is one of the most important projects in SL
TJ Asp: I'm still not convinced arc has any real meaning. There's a bit of a debate going on.
Bjorlyn Loon: www.heifer.org
Boring Television: the screen shots look cool, but it's all about performance
Mr Koolaid "Grape" CLICK FOR A GLASS!!: Have a Glass of Koolaid Chimera Cosmos
Corcosman Voom: livestock
Glass of Koolaid: Koolaid, ahhh!
LittleToe Bartlett: stock
JenzZa Misfit: ...... I put a wheat field plot up in the sky at 1500 meters :) on an open space sim and it doesnt impact performance at all .. its an amazing sunset place :)
Niobe Moomintoog: domesticated
Sunday Allen: idd, we zijn altijd in de minderheid
Niobe Moomintoog: www.heifer.org
JenzZa Misfit: woot ! cows !!
Rose Springvale: wonderful!!
Slice of Pizza: Yummy, Good Pizza!
Smileyfax Palmer: Cows are only $500?
Quinn Houston: things are slow for me today ! is there something showing on the tv screen? I'm just seeing the logo
Alanagh Recreant: excellent organisation
Smileyfax Palmer: Man, I want to buy some for myself.
Bjorlyn Loon: To visit AM Radio's Wheat Field at The Far Away: http://memoryprojector.com/
JenzZa Misfit: no Quinn .. no video today
TJ Asp: Try to get the other half of that 9th one. :-)
Troy McLuhan: That's not a finished cow - you'd have to feed it up
Quinn Houston: wheww ! thought I was broken again :) thanks :)
Rose Springvale: we have video...
JenzZa Misfit: this is the live venue ..and its on voice or you can turn volume down on voice and listen on the music stream :)
Smileyfax Palmer: Oh, some assembly required, eh?
Bjorlyn Loon: BETTINA'S WEBSITE: http://npirl.blogspot.com/
Troy McLuhan: Not so much assembly as feeding
CeAire Decosta: Video at Rockcliffe!
Smileyfax Palmer: Eh, my interpretation is more amusing.
TJ Asp: Thanks Jenzzzza
TaraYeats: Smiley - yes, for heifer.org to get the calf into the hands of the people they help
Rose Springvale: the idea is the same as "if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach him to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."
Quinn Houston: I've been listening :)
JenzZa Misfit: kk !~
Bjorlyn Loon: TO ASK YOUR QUESTIONS, type them in open local chat. Preface it with the word QUESTION:
Bjorlyn Loon: BETTINA'S WEBSITE: http://npirl.blogspot.com/
Weebit Offcourse: parcel media is not set to logo image
Bjorlyn Loon: NPIRL members are listed on Bettina's Blog Site....including Beyers Sellers!
JenzZa Misfit: Weebit .... that is intentional for todays show ... its fine as long as you can hear -- IM me if you need help
Weebit Offcourse: ty
CeAire Decosta: That's me too!
Bjorlyn Loon: For those at Muse Isle who would like to see the video, you can tune in on our website at http://www.metanomics.net/WatchNow .... just be sure that your volume on the video is turned off and that your mic is off.
Shirley Marquez: I know one major clothing designer pretty well, and she's barely even aware of what other designers are doing, let alone other sorts of creations in SL
Earth Prim: you ahve an arts background? to be able to do this?
KK Jewell: Bettina is always there for us..her LMs are the best..we would be lost without her
Troy McLuhan: Aren't you going to mention her blog?
Troy McLuhan: You'd think NPIRL was just some group
TJ Asp: how about pasting his name into chat?
Shirley Marquez: it's just some group like Linden is just some last name
IYan Writer: I love Scope's princeton build
Aki Shichiroji: Troy> Bjorn mentioned the blog about 10 lines up
Alanagh Recreant: Scope Cleaver is clued up
Troy McLuhan: I meant on the air
Alanagh Recreant: :)
Bjorlyn Loon: SCOPE CLEAVER: http://scopecleaver.com/index.php
Doust Divisadero: Okay, I'll all Mad Maxed out now
Doust Divisadero: Let's look around this postapocalypse
Bjorlyn Loon: BETTINA'S WEBSITE: http://npirl.blogspot.com/
Alanagh Recreant: awesome!! I love that she is using Creative Commons .... yay!
Doust Divisadero: Am I on stage?
Bjorlyn Loon: Creative Commons Website: http://creativecommons.org/
Boring Television: No more cul-de-sacs CC all the way
Doust Divisadero: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen
Metanomics: ANY MORE QUESTIONS FOR OUR GUEST?
Dusan Writer: /me gulps
Doust Divisadero: /sit
Bjorlyn Loon: yaaaaaaaaaay Dusan!
Doust Divisadero: How do I sit? / address everyone?
Roflcopter Robonaught: typing in general chat lets you address everyone
Roflcopter Robonaught: right click to sit
Bjorlyn Loon: /me hopes Dusan will also do some blogging at the Metanomics site.
TJ Asp: QUESTION: do you have agents actively looking for new content or do you rely on serendipity?
CeAire Decosta: right click on a seat and sit!
Dusan Writer: :) @ Bjorlyn
Alanagh Recreant: Dusan's URL again? :)
Troy McLuhan: What if I want to attach a license to my SL creation that says the next owner can only use it in deriviative works that involve grapefruit themes? Creative Commons licenses are not enough
Doust Divisadero: Who are we waiting for?
Bjorlyn Loon: I dont have Dusan's url....
Doust Divisadero: ::Good god
Dusan Writer: dusanwriter.com
Bjorlyn Loon: Creative Commons Website: http://creativecommons.org/
Bjorlyn Loon: thanks Dusan!
Troy McLuhan: Creative Commons licenses are not the only licenses
Alanagh Recreant: I have always been under the impression that CC is entrenched into the very design infrastructure of SL content creation...
Alanagh Recreant: ahhh, ok... answered, thanks
Shirley Marquez: You can hear more from Bettina on this week's Brooklyn is Watching podcast: http://brooklyniswatching.com/
Doust Divisadero: Where?
Harper Beresford: no
Harper Beresford: it's Gah-new
Doust Divisadero: Play?
Shirley Marquez: no, it's G (hard G)- nu
Shirley Marquez: the G is pronounced
Doust Divisadero: Yes, but they're not highlights
Doust Divisadero: highlighted*
Doust Divisadero: pressing play does nothing
Alanagh Recreant: like genoeg in Afrikaans?
Alanagh Recreant: hehe
Shirley Marquez: historical reason -- there was another project at MIT at the same time it was started, the Nu computer and the NuBus
Earth Prim: why publish a demand from LL without looking into it first ?
Earth Prim: I think that is irrisponsible
Shirley Marquez: so the G was pronounced to distinguish it from the other one
Doust Divisadero: exactly
Troy McLuhan: /me wants to attach a license to his latest creation that says only people with first name starting with an O are allowed to view it
Lanne Wise: lol
TJ Asp: Thank you Beyers
Bjorlyn Loon: If anyone has the group join url for Impossible in Real Life, would be great to see that pasted!
TJ Asp: I can get it for you BJ
Bjorlyn Loon: Would you TJ? Thanks!
Doust Divisadero: Oh?
Bjorlyn Loon: and in the meantime, JOIN THE METANOMICS GROUP ::|:: Touch this colored text to open the Metanomics group window, and JOIN ! secondlife:///app/group/a5b8e891-e990-9767-d73a-cbb0f0a87e46/about/
Shirley Marquez: and certainly many of the biggest!
Shirley Marquez: not to mention that most of the big SL stores are build with megaprims these days -- the prim counts of those builds would be unmanageable without them
LittleToe Bartlett: here here
Smileyfax Palmer: The David Rumsey maps are quite cool.
LittleToe Bartlett: or is it hear, hear?
Fleep: QUESTION: What do you think is the most effective way to influence Linden Lab to consider resident viewpoints on policy decisions? Do you feel blogging about issues is more effective than, say, organizing in world groups? Does NPIRL have in world, sycnhronous meetings to discuss issues?
Corcosman Voom: : ))
CeAire Decosta: As long as there are prim limits - need mega prims.
CeAire Decosta: David Rumey maps are very good.
Quinn Houston: I was told huge prims cause lag? and will upset the sim if they are used.
LittleToe Bartlett: quinn, no
Shirley Marquez: big prims that are set physical are a lag issue
Quinn Houston: great news! cuz I use them anyway :)
CeAire Decosta: Ok. Reprogram the servers to accommodate.
Shirley Marquez: one proposal is to forbid megaprims from being physical
Heidi Ballinger: Quinn: no not as long they are "phantom"
Shirley Marquez: prims that go across sim boundaries can also contribute to lag
Doust Divisadero: I do not get the ref
Harper Beresford: there has to be a good reason LL is not using mega prims... beyond wanting to restrict users.... and we have been suffering from them "reprogramming" their databases for months for many reasons
Quinn Houston: thanks as usual for the info :)
Aimee Trescothick: waiting on being able to return prims overlapping your land mainly
Doust Divisadero: Ah
Alanagh Recreant: *wonders what animation Bettina is wearing for speaking" anyone knows?
Doust Divisadero: Are you watching something?
Shirley Marquez: omg -- Dancoyote's work would nearly all be impossible without megaprims
TJ Asp: ---> To join the Impossible IRL group.. click the purple text here --> secondlife:///app/group/2db94235-e700-2762-db47-b3c5878ed260/about <-- and when the Group Window appears, click JOIN
Doust Divisadero: Like, I feel left out
Corcosman Voom: Or wear them as attachments
Shirley Marquez: I think the speaking animation is added in a postproduction step
Bjorlyn Loon: thank you so much TJ!
LittleToe Bartlett: public sandboxes get clogged with them
Aimee Trescothick: *too scared of JenzZa to demonstrate :P
JenzZa Misfit: that is built into the RC veiwer , Alanagh
Alanagh Recreant: thanks JenzZa... so no attachment?
Doust Divisadero: Where is it?
Doust Divisadero: Sounds good
Troy McLuhan: I think SLCN uses CrazyTalk to post-process the video between SL and what you see to add the mouth movements
Bjorlyn Loon: Doust... we are all using the new mouth movement technology built into the Release Candidate viewer. Go to advanced drop down, character, enable lip synch to experiment!
Doust Divisadero: Will do!
Alanagh Recreant: Try, very nice!
Shirley Marquez: oh, cool! I know they used to use the out-world thing...
JenzZa Misfit: if you are using the latest RC veiwer *** go to :::Advanced / Character / Enable lip sync
JenzZa Misfit: this only affects what YOU see
JenzZa Misfit: no not crazy talk
JenzZa Misfit: its the Release Candidate viiewer
Doust Divisadero: Hum, apparently I am not using the latest RC viewer :/
Neuron Shepherd: Bettina - yep a pretty poor job
CeAire Decosta: Just like most government agencies....
Troy McLuhan: Ah, okay, CrazyTalk is another viable option however
Shirley Marquez: the latest RC is 1.20.12
TJ Asp: ---> To join the !!!! NOT Possible IRL !!!! group.. click the purple text here --> secondlife:///app/group/91da9828-f05a-2f39-b3d0-d11beb707502/about <-- and when the Group Window appears, click JOIN
Alanagh Recreant: thanks for taking my trivial, vain question... lol
JenzZa Misfit: sure if you want to buy a 300 USD program :)
Shirley Marquez: art lovers will want it because you need it for scripted glow to work properly, and some artists are doing work with that
Troy McLuhan: Why don't we see the green emanations above their heads when they talk ;D
Shirley Marquez: I know we've got a couple of pieces at Brooklyn is Watching right now that you can't enjoy fully with an older viewer
Alanagh Recreant: *makes a note to download RC for SL*
Shirley Marquez: they have them turned off, along with name tags
Bevan Whitfield: /me thinks she'll do the same...
CeAire Decosta: Or the camera person does.
Shirley Marquez: right -- the important person for what we see is the one who is recording the machinima
CeAire Decosta: Yup!
Dusan Writer: /me applauds
TJ Asp: Sorry about that; NOT Possible IRL is a closed group.
Harper Beresford: closed to 160 members, yes
Corcosman Voom: TJ - try Impossible in Real Life Group
TJ Asp: I was just posting the group url as a public service.
CeAire Decosta: One thing we do have to remember is LL is learning as they go along also!!
KK Jewell: Really?
Shirley Marquez: it might make sense for NPIRL to create a fans group for people who want to keep track of what they are up to
KK Jewell: I am not a CC
Chimera Cosmos: `you can't join NPiRL, only IiRL
Corcosman Voom: IIRL is the fan group
Fleep: You can always subscribe to their blog, that's what I do. :)
TJ Asp: And contributing to group confussion as an unintentional public disservice. :-)
Shirley Marquez: thanks, Corcosman
Fleep: http://npirl.blogspot.com/
CeAire Decosta: /me chuckles!
KK Jewell: I guess I was there in the beginning
Bettina Tizzy: http://npirl.blogspot.com/2008/03/dear-bleeding-edge-corporations-that.h...
roadnick: That's a pretty big generalization.
Shirley Marquez: it's amazing how many RL corporations completely don't get it...
roadnick: There are GOOD metaverse development companies.
Shirley Marquez: though a few do, and a few arrive Not Getting It and manage to learn
roadnick: But other than that, she's right. :)
JenzZa Misfit: WE are not a petri dish !!!
Neuron Shepherd: advertising space
JenzZa Misfit: woot !
Aimee Trescothick: that's what many companies did with the web at first
Aimee Trescothick: and yet they haven't learnt and are repeating the same pattern
CeAire Decosta: We might be JenzZa in someone else's universe!
Shirley Marquez: the best example of the last class is Playboy -- completely clueless when they opened, but they got the message about building community
Aki Shichiroji: it is a pretty big generalization, and i would hesitate to label all MDCs with it. In many cases, MDCs can only do what their client asks them to do, even if they offer input to these companies on how to make the content dynamic. And in some cases, what corporations ask MDCs to do is really not what works here.
Hydra Shaftoe: I dunno. my boxers might qualify
JenzZa Misfit: CeAire ! I hope its Eric Claptons ! I have a crush on him ( shhh .. dont tell anyone k ? )
JenzZa Misfit: lol
Fleep: AGREEEEEEEEED
Frans Tomsen: so very true aki
CeAire Decosta: LOL!!
Shirley Marquez: a lot of RL corporations never intended a permanent presence; they were looking for the initial publicity burst and don't care after that
Fleep: Share streaming links for MANY to hear!
Bjorlyn Loon: it's like Pepsi only selling to Oklahoma!
Hydra Shaftoe: Eric Clapton is not in my boxers, Jenzza
JenzZa Misfit: boo ! out of time !
Fleep: wild applause for Bettina
Fleep: :)
JenzZa Misfit: HYDRA ! * slappity slap slap *

Max Newbold: I'm so excited!
Max Newbold: Hey!
Bjorlyn Loon: Fashion Institute of Technology :: http://www.fitnyc.edu/html/dynamic.html
JenzZa Misfit: yay Max !!
Max Newbold: Yes!
TJ Asp: I'm sure fashions that aren't possible in SECOND LIFE are right around the corner.
Shirley Marquez: I have certainly seen some -- things that wouldn't be structurally sound in RL, and designs with animated textures
JenzZa Misfit: woohoo !
Shirley Marquez: but I'm sure there are even more possibilities
CeAire Decosta: LOL!
Bjorlyn Loon: Hurrrrrray for Bettina!
Max Newbold: Yay Bett!!
Alanagh Recreant: *hopes the excellent fashion designers from Africa will also be able to join SL soon*
Kevni Koolhoven: hooorray

CeAire Decosta: Yes. Troy!

Max Newbold: claps
Corcosman Voom: little "g" gods, perhaps
Lanne Wise: good point shirley
JenzZa Misfit: woooot ! CONTENT CREATORS !
TJ Asp: Says the man with the arc of 1. :-)
JenzZa Misfit: GO Beyers !
Bettina Tizzy: Thank you so much guys! And thanks for all your input. I didn't really look at the backchat but will read it later.
TJ Asp: It's called second LIFE, not second IMAGINATION.
Chimera Cosmos: Thanks Bettina! Great show!
LittleToe Bartlett: /me disagrees :P

Alanagh Recreant: good point
Aimee Trescothick: i tried moving my avatar without using my mind
